| Thallus epiphyllous, subcuticular, rounded to irregular, 5–15 (–20) mm wide, the margin even or with short rounded to irregular lobes, 15–40 µm thick, pale greyish green to medium green, often with a bluish tint, ±smooth to rugose, glossy; photobiont Cephaleuros; prothallus not apparent. Perithecia ±superficial, not overgrown by the thallus, hemispherical, verrucose or ±conical, 0.3–0.5 (–0.6) mm diam., black. Perithecial apex rounded or subacute. Involucrellum black, carbonaceous, extending to exciple base level, 15–30 µm thick. Exciple hyaline to brown, 8–15 µm thick. Centrum 0.15–0.35 mm diam. Paraphyses simple. Asci narrowly cylindrical, 50–75 × 4–6 µm. Ascospores uniseriate in the ascus, 1-septate, narrowly ellipsoidal, constricted at the septum, 8–12 × 2.5–3.0 µm; cells commonly separating within or outside the ascus. Conidiomata: 1) semi-immersed, hemispherical, black, 0.08–0.15 mm diam., containing simple bacilliform macroconidia 4–6 × 1.5–2.5 µm; 2) convex, black and 0.05–0.10 mm diam., containing simple fusiform microconidia 4–5 × 1.5–2.0 µm. | ||
